Updated: Jan 18, 2018

January 11th 2018

On the second day of class Maddie began with a welcome as we introduced 2 new students.

After the introduction we reviewed the format for future presentations in class, and what is expected to be included when we present.

KeyPoints:

- Creation of our Websites and start of our Daily Logs

- Writing Group Assignments

We ended the day in our Writing groups which we will have for the rest of the year. Our writing groups are meant to help and be a support team for class work, essays, etc.

Committing to a topic is really about dedication, once you have researched and found a topic you like narrow down your options. You want to pic the topic that will be most effective in communication your point to your audience. For me the Commit to a Single Viable Post was the most important topic because I have a tendency to be pretty scatterbrained. When you commit to a topic you are dedicating yourself one hundred percent into that topic which keeps your writing from being off topic. You should also focus on picking something that isn't just common knowledge because that makes it really easy to be to the point for part of it, then stray from the topic you committed to. Personally the community I am leaning towards the most is the Young Musician community, specifically middle school through high school. I would like to understand a little more if musical talents have any correlation to academics. When I was in high school our band produced most of the Valedictorians and Salutatorians so putting that theory to the test would be cool. Leading me to my tentative question: “Does being a member or the Band correlate to your academic standings in high school?”
